With our highly trained sales professionals offices conveniently located in major cities in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, we are positioned to serve you and maintain our reputation for quality and dependability. Our outside sales staff is complemented by an inside sales department and stock inventory warehoused centrally in the Cincinnati area.

In its early days, Henry M. Wood Co. (HMW) functioned as manufacturers’ representative firm selling a variety of industrial equipment to accounts in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. During the 1950’s and 1960’s the company continued to offer products that were consistent with the requirements of the customer base and began to focus on the growing and evolving fluid power market, emphasizing pneumatics over hydraulics. As customer requirements in the pneumatics market evolved in the 1960’s and 1970’s, the need for local stocking distribution became apparent and HMW. Adapted to that business model and began to stock products locally, allowing the company to offer better service to its valued customers. Today, HMW is a stocking distributor for many of the products we sell and also continues to function as a manufacturer’s representative for several additional products.

Our History

Back in 1928, Henry Millard Wood probably did not visualize the future of what he started. He founded a business in Cincinnati, Ohio with the purpose of providing industrial equipment to companies in the Ohio Valley and he chose to name the company Henry M. Wood Co. Through the 1930’s and 1940’s Henry Wood expanded his company by adding sales representatives who could become his partners, a business philosophy of ownership that has continued for over 80 years.

As our markets, opportunities, customers, and capabilities have evolved over the years, we are now active in providing products for the pneumatics, leak testing, fluid handling, ergonomics, and dry bulk material handling applications.  We also offer sub assembly capability to our customers, turnkey pneumatic controls, kitting, inventory management and other custom services. 

Since 1928, HMW has shown its resiliency by being able to adapt to the ever-changing conditions that are present in the industrial sector. The company sees the challenge for the future as maintaining its status as a viable, profitable, company while meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations and continuing to be an effective channel to market for its partners (manufacturers). Today, Henry M. Wood’s customers list includes an array of both large and small user accounts as well as system integrators, special machine builders, and OEM customers.

 We work every day to insure that Henry would be proud of what he started and what it has become and we look forward to the continual evolution of the company. Through all the changes though, our goals have always remained true to Henry’s original goals – providing quality products to quality customers and do it fairly and efficiently.
